Telling The Truth

Telling the Truth is based on Azra Halilovićs’ diary notes from 1989–2000, specifically her records of a concentration camp on mount Manjača near Banja Luka, where Bosnian Muslim men were held captive.

In the early 1990s, Bosnia-Herzegovina was a melting pot of Muslim, Roman Catholic and Orthodox religions associated with Bosnian, Croat and Serb populations respectively. Croatia had chosen independence from the rest of Yugoslavia, but Radovan Karadžić, elected to lead the Serb population in Bosnia-Herzegovina, demanded Serbian dominion over Sarajevo and other cities and towns with Serb populations.

Over 20 years later, Karadžić stands trial at The International Court of Justice in The Hague, accused of genocide, deportation, crimes against humanity and war crimes.

This is an attempt to set up her own trial against Radovan Karadžić.
